Projectssoba supports a range of projects across a wide spectrum of ages. The President's Company is a programmme of soba which attracts sponsors to send a number of young people, generally in S5 at school, to attend an Outward Bound Trust three week Classic Course at one of The Outward Bound Trust centres, Loch Eil in Scotland, Eskdale in the English Lake District or Aberdovey in Wales. The President's Company project has proved to be highly successful since its inauguration in 2006. In July 2009, 40 young people from across Scotland will taken part in a Classic Course, funded by The President's Company. Each participant is fully funded by a business or individual who has committed to supporting this project over a number of years. soba Projects 2009

Having been with The Outward Bound Trust for 24 years, one of my abiding memories is being on a hill in the Lake District, with a disillusioned scaffolder on a classic course in appalling weather. He was ready to finish his course there and then. He had already thrown down his rucksack. With persuasion he stuck out the course and finished as the leader during the final expedition.
