The annual golf day is held at Western Gailes Golf Club to thank members of The President's Company for their generous support of The President's Company programme. Eighteen intrepid players set off into the wilds of Western Gailes on a day which will go down on record with one of the heaviest downpours of the year. The worst of the deluge occurred inevitably when the contestants were at the part of the course furthest from the club house. However the true Outward Bound spirit prevailed and none gave up. The winner of The President's Cup with a stableford score of 34 points was Derek Busby representing the NVT Group of Bellshill. The runner up, only one point behind was Tony Brogan of J&P Brogan. Once they they dried out, our supporters enjoyed a splendid buffet lunch and a recuperative or two. Western Gailes Golf Club was, as usual, extremely generous, and both the club house and the course were enjoyed by all, despite the weather. We look forward to next year in the sure and certain knowledge that the weather can only be better. |
